Knocked down while crossing on a green man signal

On a Sunday afternoon in December Ms G, a primary teacher, was making her way home. She utilised a staggered Pelican Crossing in order to safely cross Glasgow Road. Ms G had made her way across the westbound carriageway and as she entered the central reservation, the green man was activated for her to cross over the eastbound carriageway.

Ms G had passed the stationary car waiting in the outside lane when the vehicle in the inside lane started to move off. The vehicle collided with Ms G causing her to fall to the ground. As a result of the fall, Ms sustained injury to her chest and right knee.
